Kamut Sesame Sourdough Bread

Good morning! As we hoped, we have a new bread to introduce this week: Kamut Sesame Sourdough Bread.

Allow me to introduce Kamut as well (or click here if you'd like more info on its history and nutritional content). If you've tried our Rosemary Olive Oil Sourdough Bread, you've had Kamut. Sometimes called Khorasan, it's another ancient wheat, closer to our Einkorn loaf than our Spelt loaf, though it's actually related to Durum. As with Einkorn, some customers with wheat sensitivities report that it is easier to digest (as with all wheats, it does still contain gluten).

Kamut gives these breads a golden hue and pairs nicely with olive oil. The olive oil also gives the breads a soft interior, which contrasts with the toasted sesame seeds on the outside of this new loaf. (We learned that the combination of toasted seeds and olive oil also smooths out both the aroma and flavor of raw sesame seeds.)

We have three other breads we're working on, with the plan to introduce those in the coming weeks. Stay tuned, and have a good week!
