Cinnamon Pecan Sourdough Bread...or what was left of it...


Good morning! We have a new bread again this week, so hopefully that tips the scale toward the “good” type of morning. Plus it looks like we might have a sunny and warmer Saturday for pickups, if you need another reason to hope. 

When we introduce a new bread, we usually go through a couple of iterations, tweaking as needed to develop something that meets the mark. Then we bake one final loaf and take a photo for the online store. This week’s Cinnamon Pecan Sourdough Bread smelled so wonderful that we forgot to take our usual whole-loaf photo before cutting into it (see above photo of the remaining slices on Sunday). Whoops.

I wish we could sample aromas, but you’ll either have to take our word that this smells amazing or pop a slice in the toaster to find out for yourself. As for the texture and flavor, what stands out is the crunch of the pecans and the warm spice of cinnamon, blended with the sweet nuttiness of ancient grain Spelt and just a touch of honey to enhance the flavors. (Yes, I wrote marketing copy in a previous job...old habits die hard.)
