Good morning, and cross your fingers! Right now, it looks like we might get our first snow-free Saturday order pick-up of the year. 

All of this snow has us on a bit of a "soup kick" these days. I found three "extras" of the thaw-and-bake hot rolls in our freezer, and we ate those with a sage and delicata squash soup recently. Nothing beats bread and soup, but the hot rolls were a nice change of pace, so we're bringing those back this week in case anyone else is in need of a soup companion. While the rolls are sold as an 8-pack, you can also remove a few to thaw and bake as needed. Even if they don't fill a pan like the photo above, they'll still raise enough to be worthy of soup (or a sandwich, or a breakfast roll, or...).

In mid-December, we received our initial round of feedback from the city for the Site Plan and Architectural Review (SPAR) process for our storefront at 707 South Public Road in Lafayette. It took about a year to receive feedback, but we're glad to see the process moving forward.

Reflecting on the journey so far, it’s been about a year and a half since we first partnered with our design and engineering teams. Over the past few weeks, we’ve been able to reconnect with them, and we've managed to bring the original group back together (with one new addition) to address the city's feedback and keep the project moving forward. That's more good news.

We hope to keep the momentum going and wanted to share where things stand as we get questions about this often. While completing the full SPAR review and building permitting processes still lie ahead, we are still committed to having a brick-and-mortar bakery here in Lafayette.
