Ashley's parents visit the farm stand at Cure Organic Farm, along with our nephew Charlie

I looked at the weather forecast for this week and saw triple digits for this upcoming Saturday. Yikes. Guess we are in the full swing of summer, so it’s a good time to talk about the farm stand at Cure Organic Farm. Colorado’s fruit season has kicked in (apricots and cherries, with peaches any day now), and we’re getting to some of the best summer vegetables as well. Going forward, we’ll try to include a list of what’s in season at the farm for that week. 

If you’ve never been to the farm stand, we encourage you to check it out. It’s open from noon to five every day and later on Wednesdays (12-7PM). In addition to what’s grown on the farm, they offer organic fruit from First Fruits and Rancho Durazno on the Western Slope, grass-fed beef from All Natural Homestead Beef, dairy from Five Freedoms Dairy, and so much more. I get to work alongside some of the nicest people I’ve ever worked with, and they’re great sources of information as well. I learn something new every time I’m there, just hearing their conversations with customers about the produce, recipes, other Boulder county businesses and organizations, events, etc. In short, it’s what we’d like our brick-and-mortar bakery to be one day: a place of community.

(This week, the farm stand should have Salad Mix, Arugula, Spicy Greens, Head Lettuce, Green & Red Kale, Radicchio, Herbs, Fava Beans, Snow Peas, Beets, Carrots, Turnips, Onions, Fresh Garlic, Garlic Scapes, Edible Flowers, Squash Blossoms, Zucchini, Yellow Squash, Cucumbers, Sweet Cherries, Apricots, and more.)
